The Arrow Event Space
San Gabriel Valley, CA
Drury Architects is proud to lead the transformation of "The Arrow," a 6,000 sq. ft. former truck rental center, into a contemporary and highly adaptable event space designed to host parties, gatherings, and special occasions. Located within a bustling neighborhood, this project represents a vision for adaptive reuse, combining functionality with modern aesthetics to breathe new life into the building. Drury Architects was brought on to spearhead the approvals process, ensuring compliance with zoning regulations and efficiently navigating the often-complex permitting and building department requirements.

The redesign of "The Arrow" focuses on creating a seamless blend of style and practicality. The interior has been completely refreshed to provide a versatile, open-concept layout capable of accommodating various event configurations. High-end flooring with a wood-inspired finish adds warmth and texture, while the bold, black-painted exposed ceilings provide a contemporary edge that elevates the space’s design. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to flood the venue during the day, creating an inviting ambiance while also offering a visual connection to the surrounding streetscape. Thoughtfully integrated upgrades ensure compliance with building codes and ADA accessibility standards, making the space inclusive and welcoming for all guests.

Beyond the physical design, Drury Architects has provided critical guidance on the strategic planning and development of the project, aligning the design with the client's goals while meeting all regulatory requirements. The project team has worked collaboratively with city planners to address all aspects of the change-of-use process, from initial site analysis to ensuring that The Arrow will operate successfully as a vibrant event venue. With construction progressing, "The Arrow" is on track to become a landmark destination in the community, showcasing how careful planning, innovative design, and strategic execution can transform a utilitarian building into a dynamic, multi-functional space.
