Live/Work Loft Design - Los Angeles

DTLA Live/Work

Downtown Los Angeles, CA

The DTLA Live/Work Units project transforms three former retail storefronts into contemporary live/work residential units in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Designed by Drury Architects, Inc., the project reimagines underutilized commercial space into versatile environments that seamlessly integrate living and working functions. The units, ranging in size from 836 to 987 square feet, feature open-concept layouts that maximize functionality while fostering creativity and productivity. Each unit includes designated living, kitchen/dining, work, and sleeping zones, carefully configured to accommodate the demands of modern urban professionals.

The design incorporates high-quality materials and finishes, with thoughtful attention to natural light, storage solutions, and adaptable workspaces. Spacious kitchens with integrated appliances, dedicated work zones, and private bathrooms ensure that these units meet the standards of comfortable living while supporting flexible work arrangements. With this adaptive reuse approach, the DTLA Live/Work Units contribute to downtown Los Angeles’ revitalization by balancing residential needs with the growing demand for dynamic, multipurpose spaces. This modern live/work model reflects the city's evolving urban fabric and addresses the lifestyle preferences of residents seeking sustainable, functional, and connected living environments.
